Consider this: What’s the most common reason people get online each and every day? Simple. To get information. This is so ubiquitous a quest that Google handles 400 million queries a day! Why should you care? This quest for information is an opportunity for you to fill a need. And if you do it right . . . to make some money along the way.

Info marketing explained

This is by far the simplest business you can start. You develop a product that is nothing more than information. And then sell it to people who want to learn the info in it. Sounds simple enough, right?

How does it work?

OK, the concept is simple. In order to be successful there has to be value in the info you’re selling. So you’ll need to find out what info is valuable. How do you do that?

One easy way to figure it out is with a simple search. Just go to Yahoo! answers or ask.com and look at the questions being asked there. Your goal is to find a common problem. For things that are causing people discomfort. And solve the problem for them by writing an info product on it.

Think about this:

If you’re worried about how to write and ebook. Think about this: An ebook is just a series of articles. Writing a whole ebook can be overwhelming. Just write some articles for your blog. And when you have a collection, flesh them out, add to them and combine them into a single ebook.

OK, what’s so hot about digital products? Interestingly enough, we’re back to the name of this article How about 7 reasons why:

1. Simplicity and ease

As soon as you have the pieces in place, it’s virtually maintenance free. There is almost no support. So you can just set it up and let it run. It really is like and automatic money machine.

You have no physical inventory. You never have to deal with shipping. It’s digital.

2. Repurposing

After you’ve created a few ebooks. You can put together bigger more expensive information products. It’s nothing to combine the content from several ebooks. And you’ll be able to charge much more for this “new” product. People will be willing to pay a lot more for one big ebook. As opposed to a bunch of little ones.

3. Resellers

Since it’s your product, you can offer other people the resale rights. Recently, resell rights have become extremely popular, because most people simply don’t have the time, money and effort it takes to create their own products. And what’s more you can charge double, even triple your selling price for resell rights!

4. Leverage

It’s your content, so you can use it in as many different ways as you want. Break it apart and create a multi-part email series with it. And build your list with it. A list is it’s own reward!

5. More leverage

Don’t stop there . . . break it into several smaller reports. Then you can use the reports as the front-end of your product funnel. You can make these low cost or even free. And you’re creating targeted leads for your main product all along. Taking this technique to the max, you can let your affiliate give the reports away for you. Which brings us to…

6. An affiliate army

This one is huge. If you’ve got products you own. Other people can become your affiliates. How would you like to have an army of affiliates selling your products? You can’t do this unless you have your own product.

7. JVs

Last, but definitely not least… The number one way to launch your success is through joint ventures. So, I’d say this is the most important reason to have you own products. Because if you don’t have you own product, you’ve got nothing to JV.

In closing

If you can’t see the power of info product marketing, then you’ve probably been sleeping. You’ll become the ruler of your own fate. Because you’re the boss! So, decide to just start:

  • Go to answers.yahoo.com
  • Find out what people need to know
  • Write about the answers

Don’t make info product creation any more complicated than that. And in no time you’ll have an info product ready to go.
